WWE Raw: 10 Things You Might Have Missed (Aug 8)

9. The Excited Mood Drastically Dropped When Puff Daddy's Graphic Aired

Another familiar trope for Raw is to have the announce team run through some of the things fans can expect to see on that week's show. In amongst announcements hyping Mick Foley's invitation to SmackDown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan, Sean 'Puff Daddy' Combs was also displayed on the big screen.

Fans had reacted well to the graphic showing Foley and Bryan on opposite sides, knowing the GM duo were coming together to discuss the ongoing situation between Brock Lesnar and Randy Orton. As soon as Puff Daddy was shown on screen though, the mood suddenly changed in the building, and immediately turned a little bit sour.

Many people still remember the dark days between 2009-2010 when WWE wheeled out numerous 'celebrity guest hosts' for Raw. Thankfully, the rapper's appearance didn't take up too much time (Combs was relegated to one backstage segment only), but fans didn't know that at the start of the show.

If ever WWE needed another reason to scrap this kind of meaningless celebrity fare altogether, the fact everyone outright booed any mention to Puff Daddy should make things crystal clear.
