4. Hug Between Stephanie & Seth Rollins Foreshadowed What Was To Come

Sometimes, it's easy for backstage segments to appear inconsequential on WWE television. Short little inserts featuring multiple characters should be more meaningful than they occasionally are, but randomly the company indulges in a little bit of foreshadowing. That was the case when Seth Rollins approached Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley on Raw.

Steph and her General Manager agreed that no partners should be allowed around ringside for the upcoming four-way main event. Only then did Rollins make his presence felt, interrupting to say that he was ready to make Stephanie proud. Glancing at Foley, he then held McMahon tightly in a warm embrace.

The message here was clear, any remnants of The Authority were firmly in the corner of Rollins. This became important later on when Triple H stabbed Seth in the back and nailed him with a Pedigree during the match. Whilst Stephanie was supportive of Rollins, she had no clue what her husband was planning.

In a sense, this was almost like Rollins saying goodbye to his past, he just didn't know it yet. Another awesome little nuance.
