WWE Raw: 10 Things You Might Have Missed

5. Michael Cole's Random Story About Elias

Whereas WWE didn't clue fans in on why Elias Sampson has stopped using his established surname, they did let Michael Cole drone on with a far-fetched story about the guy's scarf. No, we're not kidding, and you're probably fortunate if you missed Cole's little anecdote.

According to Cole, the scarf Elias wore was actually purchased from a street vendor. As if that wasn't thrilling enough, the vendor apparently made the item for Heath Ledger. Once the actor passed away though, he gave it to Elias. Surely some explanation on the man's ring name would be more topical than this?

It's cool that WWE want to add some background to the newcomer, but this felt clumsy. When viewers were wondering why Elias was now only going by his first name, Cole brought a whimsical tale to the table that even Booker T questioned.
