WWE RAW 2/24/2014 Review: 5 Things We Learned

3. Batista Teases His Expected Heel Turn

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MhgHwpLmXuQ This week on RAW, we got a rematch of the Elimination Chamber match between Alberto Del Rio and Batista. This feud has felt unimportant from day one, with no real basis for the two men squaring off in any type of program. Because of this, WWE has dropped the ball on what should have been a huge return for Batista, and for the company, following The Rock's huge successful returns over the past several years. Batista has felt unimportant and uninteresting since the night he returned, and both the WWE and Dave himself are to blame. A month or so ago, I never would have thought that I would find myself fast-forwarding through Batista's return matches on my DVR following his hugely anticipated return to the business after years away. He has been visibly winded every time he has been performing in the ring, and this week on RAW he even botched a spot with Del Rio and a simple kick to the head. He has also not been very good on the mic. And this week he was again visibly winded when trying to cut a promo segment with Randy Orton. But he did tease a heel turn, which is of course the right move at this point. Fans are rejecting him as a face, and even shouting YOU CAN'T WRESTLE during his few trips to the ring thus far. Look for his heel turn to be complete following SmackDown! this week.
