After plentiful rumblings, WWE has officially announced it will be returning to India this September for an event called Superstar Spectacle.

In a press release, WWE confirmed that it will be heading to Hyderabad's GMC Balayogi Indoor Stadium on Friday 8 September for a non-televised live event. This will mark WWE's first show in India since a Delhi house show in December 2017.

For that 2017 offering, the main event saw Triple H score a win over Jinder Mahal. Elsewhere on that card, the Shield toppled Samoa Joe and the Bar, Alexa Bliss retained the Raw Women's Title against Sasha Banks, Braun Strowman got a DQ win over Kane, Enzo Amore successfully defended the WWE Cruiserweight Title against Kalisto, Apollo Crews and Titus O'Neil beat the Good Brothers, and Jeet Rama and Kishan Rafter were victorious against Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel.

Tickets for Superstar Spectacle go on sale this Friday at midday IST at bookmyshow.com, with fans able to pre-register for early access a day earlier.

Of course, this isn't the first time WWE has run a Superstar Spectacle event, with the promotion putting on just such a show (pictured above) back in 2021.

Specially produced for the company's Indian market - and airing on India's Republic Day on 26 January - the Thunderdome-housed special was headlined by WWE Champion Drew McIntyre teaming with Indus Sher to defeat Jinder Mahal and the Bollywood Boyz.

Making up the rest of this five-match event, Charlotte Flair and Sareena Sandhu beat Bayley and Natalya, AJ Styles bested Jeet Rama, Finn Balor got a win over Guru Raaj, and Shanky, Giant Zanjeer, Rey Mysterio and Ricochet got the W over Cesaro, Dolph Ziggler, Baron Corbin and Shinsuke Nakamura.
