Now, many in the IWC will complain that the Rock phoned it in occasionally with his promos and that Punk smashed him out of the park during their feud (more on that later). I personally think this is a bit unfair. Looking back to when he did his first promo as the host of Wrestlemania- otherwise known as the 'fruity pebbles' promo- and he was firing on all cylinders. When the Rock returned in 2013 to ignite the feud with CM Punk, he did his job against CM Punk- particularly in the first week. I will be the first to admit that I am have had it up to the back teeth with so-called Rock concerts (more on that later too...) but when the new WWE title was unveiled by the Great One he had the audience eating out of his hand and did more to legitimise the new title design in one night than so many stars had done with the previous one.
