WWE Royal Rumble 2013: 5 Awesome Moments And 5 That Sucked

1. Anticlimactic Ending #2

Having seen John Cena win the Royal Rumble was an automatic give-away to what was to come in the main event, which was fine. Even the swerve they gave us with CM Punk winning with The Sheld's help was solid. Then "No Chance" came over the loudspeakers and we knew the real ending was about to come. And again, this was fine. Up until this point, CM Punk had already kicked out of one Rock Bottom that was performed at ringside, but then The Rock was able to finally hit CM Punk with the People's Elbow and...he won. He won with the People's Elbow. Rock hardly ever put away anybody with the People's Elbow. It's a signature move, not a finisher. Shawn Michaels never won with the top rope elbow smash, and Stone Cold never pinned anyway after a Lou Thesz press, so what sense did it make for Punk to lose to that move? Weeks earlier he had just survived a brutal TLC match. Months before that, Chris Jericho couldn't put him away in a Chicago Street Fight. It was a slap in the face to the 434 days CM Punk had been WWE Champion. Yet, for some reason, deep down I feel Punk was probably the one who suggested that finish because he knew it would piss us off to no end. And he was right.
