WWE Royal Rumble 2014: 10 Allies Who Will Fall Out

8. Rob Van Dam And Ricardo Rodriguez

Rob Van Dam Assumptions and predictions and surprises are part of the fun when you watch the Royal Rumble. This particular prediction is grounded in facts: Rob Van Dam is a part-time wrestler who's been off since the Battleground PPV in early October 2013. He's not injured, he's still on contract, and he's proven that he's still got enough in the tank to please the fans. If Van Dam wants to be on the WrestleMania card, and if Creative has something for him, this is a great time to make a comeback. And because RVD has already made his big comeback, this subset of his return won't overshadow the big Batista entrance that they've been hyping like crazy. Then we have Ricardo Rodriguez, who stood in Van Dam's corner for his feud against Alberto Del Rio. When that feud ended at the aforementioned PPV, Van Dam quietly took his leave, as did Ricardo, under the guise of "training to be a wrestler". His angst-ridden friendship with Del Rio leaves the door open for Ricardo to seek revenge in the ring €“ but Ricardo tweeted recently that perhaps he should aid his old frenemy against the threat of Batista. It could be a case of the double agent, but who is Ricardo really there to support? Will he come out all smiles, and high-five RVD into an elimination over the top rope? Or will he pay back Del Rio for all those times he was made to wax the fancy cars?
