WWE Royal Rumble 2014: 10 Allies Who Will Fall Out

4. Dolph Ziggler and Big E Langston

Dolph Ziggler Concussions, unfinished business, and the student surpassing the teacher. There's a lot of threads with which to weave a story between these two men. Let's start with the concussion. Dolph is currently out of action. We last heard that he'd passed imPACT testing, and would be monitored for symptoms prior to any cardio training, let alone getting in the ring. There have been no further updates over the past 2 weeks; we can interpret that as a sign of Dolph's continued convalescence... or as a very well-kept secret (such as Jericho's return last year, coincidentally to meet Dolph in the Number 2 spot)? And then there's the unfinished business. When Dolph and AJ split up last year, Big E sided with the enchanting brunette. Though they had a few mixed tag matches against Dolph and Kaitlyn, there was never a big standoff between the two men on their own. Instead of confronting Big E on the grounds of disloyalty, Dolph pulled a "whatevs" and moved on. If he'd moved on to bigger and better, then the lost opportunity could be considered minimal. But Dolph had fallen from the main event picture, and a proper feud with his former enforcer would have been brilliant. Just picture Ziggler bumping for a Big Ending. As for the student surpassing the teacher: concussion notwithstanding, Big E's been the one to move up the ranks, winning fans' allegiance AND the Intercontinental Championship. Dolph could surprise us all, and come back as the real heel he needs to be. The teacher wants to take Big E to school.
