WWE Royal Rumble 2017: 10 Possible Surprise Entrants

2. Finn Bálor

You had to feel for Bálor in the summer of 2016, as he made his long-awaited main roster debut after a great NXT run and received a huge push out of the gate, going over both Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins to win the WWE Universal Championship within his first month, only to suffer a serious injury during the title match and be forced to vacate the championship the next night.

Finn was given a 4-6 month recovery time from the surgery in July, meaning the scheduled return date is rapidly approaching. Winning the Rumble and coming after the Championship he never lost would be a great way to give the Irishman the run he deserves at the top.

Will it happen? The Demon quickly became one of the most popular members of the main roster on his debut, with the nightmarish persona striking a chord with fans all over the world. The only potential stumbling block to reaching those heights again may be Vince McMahon being wary of giving him another push only for Bálor to become injured once more. However, a Rumble appearance is a must.
