WWE Royal Rumble 2017: 10 Superstars We Actually Want To See Win
1. Samoa Joe
Another NXT ‘What If’ but even less likely than Nakamura, seeing the TNA titan enter the Rumble and dominate like only he can will be a sight to behold. He’s big, he’s brash, he’s capable of knocking anyone on their arse, and he’s a name familiar with even casual WWE fans. Unfortunately, there’s just not a lot of reason to this booking other than We Would Like To See This For The Bants, which when you think about it, is Vince McMahon’s entire philosophy with Roman Reigns.
It’s likely that Joe will turn up in the Rumble match as a surprise entrant, but his chances of winning are slim to none, which makes him the ideal candidate for WWE to ram home their New Era schtick and remind everyone that they’re not going through the motions, honest. This would be the surprise of all surprises, like finding out you’re adopted because your dog has learned to talk. But still, even the idea of Styles vs. Joe at WrestleMania two years ago would have been unheard of. Now there is a tiny glimmer of possibility.
