Post-match celebrations between wrestler and NXT fans would feel like a 'Bro'-mance if Matt Riddle shocked the world and eliminated Brock Lesnar from Sunday's Royal Rumble. That, along with other surprises, would make the Rumble memorable, but it doesn't need to happen if WWE aren't quite ready to pull the trigger on Riddle. There are other choices.

Some other things must happen though.

There's no getting around it: this pay-per-view is critical. If the Rumble is to be the true kick off point on the 'Road To WrestleMania', then it needs to be a biggie. WWE must set things up for the coming months and give a few hints at what's happening this April. At the same time, they also have to keep in mind that Elimination Chamber is scheduled for 8 March, and they can't leave that cold either.

There's no room to worry about the impact these poorly scheduled gimmick match events have on business right now; WWE can only focus on making the Rumble newsworthy, setting up Chamber and 'Mania matches to come and on giving one superstar redemption for his hellish first attempt at babyface glory many moons ago...
