WWE Royal Rumble: Best Performances From Every Entry Slot
18. Shawn Michaels - 1996
The year after Shawn Michaels won the Royal Rumble from the No. 1 spot, he had a much better draw, entering the 1996 Rumble at No. 18. No man had ever won from this position before HBK, and no man has ever done it since.
There was an incredible amount of pressure on Michaels after going coast to coast in 1995, but in less than one minute the Heartbreak Kid had achieved something just as incredible - he eliminated both Vader and Yokokuna, at a combined weight of over 1000lbs, at the same time.
Following this incredible start, Michaels eliminated a further five men before reaching the final two, with 1-2-3 Kid, Jerry 'The King' Lawler, Owen Hart (with the help of Diesel), Isaac Yankem DDS (who would in future become The Big Red Machine, Kane), and The British Bulldog, all falling victim to the reigning champ.
Just seconds after The Bulldog was eliminated by HBK for the second time in two years, Michaels dispatched of his final obsticle, Diesel, sending the big man over the top rope with a Sweet Chin Music, becoming the second man to win back to back Rumbles after Hulk Hogan.
