WWE Secretly Teases Cody Rhodes Return

Easter eggs laid online for the return of the former AEW MVP?

As this post is being written, dark corners of "Wrestling Twitter" are adamant that the WWE re-debut of Cody Rhodes is imminent pending an online announcement - and those rumours are intensifying to such an extent that this news article may well be out of date by the time you read it.

Perhaps this stems from a recent video uploaded to WWE's official YouTube channel; conspicuously, perhaps, the promotion uploaded a list entitled 'Shocking Raw returns: Playlist' a matter of hours ago.

Is this a mere coincidence, or are WWE hoping to capitalise on the buzz by secretly promoting perhaps the most shocking of all? Or, if that would require altogether too much thought, are WWE attempting to clickbait fans ahead of one of the biggest pro wrestling developments of the year?

This might be nothing, but this is what it's all about - something wrestling hasn't been about for far too long.

Cody himself is happy to cultivate the mystery, having alluded to being retired on a recent Instagram story - but you might recall that he threatened retirement on AEW television last year before resuming his programme with Malakai Black.
