WWE Security Makes Fan Remove His AEW Shirt At Royal Rumble 2019

Let the war begin!

AEW Merch

Security at last night's Royal Rumble pay-per-view forced a fan to remove his All Elite Wrestling shirt, according to reports on Twitter.

Following recent claims online that fans are not allowed to wear AEW merch at shows, WWE appear to be strongly enforcing that rule, as evidenced by this Twitter video:-

The video appears to show WWE security asking a member of the audience, in a front row seat, to take off his AEW branded tee despite the fact there are numerous fans wearing Bullet Club merchandise around him. Apparently, the company are only concerned with their newest competitor being given undue publicity.

Furthermore, people were allegedly told to obscure the AEW logo on other items of clothing in photos with Superstars at Royal Rumble Axxess.

This appears to be the latest chapter in the fast escalating conflict between Vince McMahon's wrestling juggernaut and the newly-founded All Elite Wrestling. Previous reports have suggested WWE are offering big money contracts to ensure their talent don't leave for AEW, or that under-utilised workers were being promised significant main roster pushes in an attempt to convince them to stay.
