WWE Sign Former Impact X Division Champion DJZ
The high-flying star will start with NXT soon.
Former Impact Wrestling X Division Champion DJZ is expected to start with WWE imminently.
PW Insider reported that the former Zema Ion had inked a deal with Vince McMahon's promotion yesterday, with the Wrestling Observer corroborating the news on top of revealing that the high-flying marvel is heading to NXT.
DJZ's seven-year Impact association came to an end on 1 January. He has since remained active on the global indie circuit, working for promotions like PROGRESS, MLW, and AAW, where he is the current Heritage Champion. There's no word on when he'll wrap his independent dates, though he'll likely have time for a quick farewell tour before joining the Performance Center.
The 32-year-old was one of the last big names left on the free agent market following the AEW/WWE signing blitz earlier this year, and his presence will be missed. He's a dynamic, exciting in-ring performer with an eye-catching style and an equally flashy gimmick, whose charisma and crowd-pleasing style mean he'll almost certainly get over inside Full Sail University, though his slight frame (5'7", 170lbs) makes main roster success another matter entirely.
Expect WWE to confirm DJZ's signing before long.
