The main contrast between Raw and SmackDown is in the presentation of the authority figures on each show. Whereas Mick Foley routinely butts heads with heels in his role as General Manager on Monday nights, Daniel Bryan has major issues when interacting with the villains. Mainly, Bryan has a problem with The Miz.

Interrupting a photoshoot Miz and Maryse were enjoying, Bryan then proceeded to put Miz in a match for his WWE Intercontinental Title against Kalisto. Quite rightly, Miz asked what the masked man had done to deserve a shot at his championship. It's hard to argue with such logic, Miz was right.

After all, Kalisto was coming off a loss at Survivor Series. He failed to win the WWE Cruiserweight Title from Brian Kendrick and secure the entire division for SmackDown. Meanwhile, The Miz managed to win for the brand by beating Sami Zayn at the pay-per-view.

Daniel Bryan just came across as bitter and spiteful towards Miz during this backstage segment, the heel is actually justified in feeling like he's being singled out by those in charge.
