Directly causing AJ Styles to lose by pinfall to James Ellsworth last week, Dean Ambrose was prevented from resuming his duties as Special Guest Referee on this week's SmackDown. General Manager Daniel Bryan said that Ambrose could be ring announcer, timekeeper, announcer or anything else he wanted instead. Ambrose decided to cause more havoc.

Consistently distracting Styles, Ambrose was once again responsible for the WWE Champion coming up short against the unlikely Ellsworth. This time, AJ lost via disqualification when he wouldn't stop raining punches down on Ellsworth against the ropes. Having seen enough, the referee called for the bell to sound.

Entering the ring, Ambrose then attacked Styles and put over James Ellsworth. Notably, he also said that Ellsworth had now done what John Cena couldn't and beat AJ Styles. Twice in as many weeks, Ellsworth has beaten the reigning WWE World Champion.

It was fascinating to hear such references to Cena, he was also mentioned during the in-ring promo between Carmella and Nikki Bella. The craziness continues, who imagined James Ellsworth would be compared to John Cena?
