Vince McMahon will find himself going full Scrooge McDuck in October, swimming in a vast pool of money as SmackDown's billion-dollar contract with Fox TV kicks in, and it sounds like WWE's blue brand is about to go from B-show to big leagues for the expected 4 October debut.

Per Dave Meltzer in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE's new network are currently testing out brand new cameras that they plan on using for the debut episode. On top of this, Fox also intend to invite a boatload of celebrities to the event, which is primarily why the show is being held in Los Angeles' prestigious Staples Center.

In Meltzer's own words, "they want to kick it off with a bang like it's the equivalent of a big boxing match and the place for the real stars to be out." He adds that with AEW's TV show set to debut that week, WWE want to present themselves as the major leagues, thus making All Elite look as small-time as possible.

Whoever Fox end-up inviting to the show, let's hope WWE succeeds in attracting more than the paltry 1,500-2,000 that reportedly attended this week's episode of SmackDown.
