WWE SmackDown Rating Sees A Drop This Week
WWE's b-show loses 80,000 viewers.

The television ratings data is in for this week's edition of WWE SmackDown on the USA Network, and the viewership results were a decrease compared to the show's performance last week.
The April 14th edition of SmackDown did 2.36 million viewers, down from 2.44 million viewers during the preceding week. The drop represents a loss of 80,000 viewers. Certainly not a number to panic about by any means, but a decrease none-the-less.
Considering RAW saw its viewership fall by over 500,000 viewers this week, the SmackDown drop-off could almost be spun as positive news.
As far as competition goes on Thursday night, SmackDown failed to garner the kind of interest that the CNN Democratic President Debate did; the debate in New York between Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton drew 5.47 million viewers.
In the key 18-49 age group demographic, SmackDown came in with a 0.71 rating, which was identical to what the April 7th show drew last week.
SmackDown was highlighted this week by AJ Styles taking on Alberto Del Rio and Chris Jericho wrestling Sami Zayn. The show also featured the continuation of the tournament for a shot at the WWE Tag Team titles, with Enzo and Cass (in their first main roster bout) defeating the Ascension and the Vaudevillains coming out victorious against Goldust and Fandango.
