Smackdown was taped on Tuesday night from Little Rock, Arkansas, with Rusev vs The Big Show as your main event. The show will be broadcast this friday and it begins WWE's build toward October's Hell In A Cell event. The opener was The Miz vs Dean Ambrose. This played off of the exchanges Miz and Ambrose had during Main Event this week, culminating in a fun little match to kick off Smackdown. The result saw Ambrose pick up the win with his headlock DDT. During the bout, Seth Rollins and Kane tried to interfere, but it wasn't enough to derail the babyface. The heels then tried to beat the 'lunatic fringe' down post-match, but the plucky Ambrose escaped - stealing Rollins' briefcase in the process. It should be interesting to see where the theft of the briefcase ends up. This angle seems to indicate we'll be getting Rollins vs Ambrose inside the cell this October. If that's the case, then Lesnar vs Cena in the Hell In A Cell main event seems assured. The other option could be a four way Cell match, Lesnar vs Cena vs Rollins vs Ambrose. That'd give WWE a way of transitioning the title off Brock Lesnar without the champion being pinned. We'll have to wait and see. A Battle Royal took place to determine who would get a shot at Dolph Ziggler's Intercontinental title later in the show. The last three men were Cesaro, Jack Swagger and Kofi Kingston. The finish came when Cesaro press slammed Kingston, throwing him into Swagger who was stood by the ropes. That eliminated both Swagger and Kingston, which set up Cesaro vs Ziggler for later in the evening. The Usos defeated Goldust and Stardust, via disqualification. It was the solid effort you'd expect from these men. The DQ finish came when Goldust ran in and used a belt shot. Before that, it looked like the Usos had the match won. It looks like this feud will continue. Rollins and Kane had a backstage discussion. Seth said that there'd be major consequences if he didn't get his briefcase returned from Ambrose. He said that his response would make the cinder block incident look like child play. Layla and Summer Rae faced off against Natalya and Rosa Mendes. Reports from the arena indicate that this match had a lot of problems, so it's probably going to need significant editing before making broadcast. For example, the finish was said to be sloppily executed, when Layla messily pinned Rosa with a handful of tights. Dolph Ziggler defeated Cesaro. The finish saw Dolph get a roll-up off off a power bomb attempt for the pin. However, it was noted that Cesaro was clearly holding the ring ropes. Maybe they'll meet again at Hell In A Cell. The main event of Big Show Vs Rusev ended in a DQ. The Giant was about to knock the Russian out when Lana interfered by grabbing the big man's leg. Show responded by dragging her into the ring, only for Rusev to grab his flag and nail the babyface's leg for the DQ. Show knocked Rusev out after the match, although that might not make air for the final cut. All in all, this should be a pretty watchable episode of Smackdown for this Friday night.
