A match on Raw or SmackDown has been a long time coming for this WWE wrestler.

Edge is set to wrestle his first match on WWE Raw or SmackDown since September 2021.

The 'Rated-R Superstar' will meet Damian Priest on the 22 August episode of Raw (which will be in Edge's hometown of Toronto at the Scotiabank Arena). Priest fired out the challenge on Monday's flagship, and his old Judgment Day leader quickly agreed.

Edge last worked on free WWE television opposite Seth Rollins - together, they had a memorable clash on the 10 September SmackDown. Since then, the Hall Of Famer has only wrestled pay-per-view bouts or house show matches.

That means it'll be 11 months and 12 days since his last in-ring WWE TV showing by the time the match with Priest rolls around. Time moves fast, eh?

Post-Rollins defeat, Edge has worked the following bouts: a Steel Cage win over Kevin Owens on a 26 December 2021 live event, another victory over The Miz at Day 1, a mixed tag match with Beth Phoenix vs. Miz and Maryse at Royal Rumble, back-to-back matches vs. AJ Styles at both WrestleMania 38 and 'Mania Backlash, and a six-person tag at Hell In A Cell.

WWE has confirmed the Priest bout for 22 August.
