WWE SummerSlam 2014: 5 Winners And 5 Losers

4. Jack Swagger

The Jack Swagger/Zeb Colter face turn has been fun and given American fans a cathartic release when we chant €œUSA! USA!€ at the dastardly foreign menaces. But here€™s the problem. There€™s absolutely nowhere for the duo to go from here. I don€™t think anyone expected Swagger to get the better of this program. It was just a placeholder to help build heat for Rusev. But now that they€™ve turned The Real Americans face, despite Swagger being a far more natural heel, there€™s a very real fear that they€™ll soon be directionless. The former University of Oklahoma All-American is hoss in the ring, like a charisma-less blend of Kurt Angle and Steve €œDr. Death€ Williams, and despite a few runs near the top of the card, he€™s just never felt like someone who was destined for much more than what he€™s already achieved. We€™ll probably get one more match between the two, leading to a definite victory for Rusev before he€™s cycled onto something bigger, but unfortunately the smart money is that Jack will be stuck doing nothing much of anything after that.
