5. The Divas Match Was Underwhelming

Fresh off the heels of an outstanding NXT Women's Championship at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn, you'd think that the women on the 'main' roster would be motivated to step up a gear. Sadly, you'd be wrong; while the Bayley/Sasha Banks match managed to be full of excitement in a 19-minute match, this 9-woman match went 15 and was far less exciting.

A major reason for that was because the stipulation had it so that when someone was pinned or made submit, the entire team would be eliminated, instead of, you know, only that one person. All of a sudden a trio's entire success was dependent on one woman's skills. So instead of doing an actual elimination match, where members of each team are eliminated one by one, you have Tamina Snuka getting pinned, leading to all of Team B.A.D.  being out of the match.

Despite the heavy emphasis of this storyline in recent weeks, the match felt rushed and overbooked. There were few moments to push particular combinations between two people, and so the only thing that made this match stand out as a women's match was it's length.

Although some of the women managed to show off some cool moves (including some exciting over-the-top-rope maneuvers), the match just fell flat. However, given the positive reaction for the NXT women (and the negative one for the Bellas), maybe some more substantial change might be coming soon.
