Tonight, Dolph Ziggler will have a golden opportunity when he challenges Dean Ambrose for the WWE Championship in one of four SummerSlam main events.

The Showoff has awaited his chance to prove to the wrestling world that he is one of the best in the industry, in the highest profile situation, since losing his world title back in 2013.

In Brooklyn, he will combat The Lunatic Fringe for the right to hold gold and reestablish himself as one of the elites in the WWE Universe.

But should he actually win the title?

Should the man who has spent far too much time putting others over and not enough riding a wave of momentum atop the industry he has helped carry for the last decade, really knock off Ambrose for the top prize in sports entertainment?

The answer to that question is an emphatic "yes," for seven specific reasons.

7. Storyline Possibilities

One of the interesting elements of the entire Dolph Ziggler-Dean Ambrose feud has been the condescending manner in which WWE champion Ambrose has addressed his No. 1 contender. Almost talking down to Ziggler, The Lunatic Fringe has repeatedly questioned The Showoff's ability to actually win the big one.

Almost as if Ambrose's championship reign has changed him.

After all, it was not that long ago that the former Shield member repeatedly competed for the title, only to fail on every occasion. Has the title given Ambrose an arrogance he was lacking and, more importantly, how would losing that title affect him?

It is clear that WWE management has invested in Ambrose as the face of SmackDown. It would behoove them to advance his story beyond that of recklessness and unpredictability. The best place to start is SummerSlam, with a Ziggler title win.
