WWE SummerSlam 2025: 10 Things That Must Happen

9. Lyra Valkyria's Nightmare Rings True

Let's not mince words. Lyra Valkyria's promo on Monday's go home episode of Raw was not good. It was shaky, seemed to go off the rails when she did a funny little dance, and it just generally failed to spark much interest from the live crowd. That only changed when Becky Lynch appeared then Lyra cut off her surprise attack by sprouting eyes from the back of her head.

At SummerSlam, the story says Valkyria can't challenge for the Women's Intercontinental Title again whilst Becky is champ if she loses. Lose she must. That Women's IC Title is fine right where it is (over Lynch's shoulder), and there's no need to switch it back to Lyra for now. Let her suffer for a while and build support through hard work and graft. Then, once Becky loses it, she can challenge the new champion.

Valkyria might well be ready for bigger prizes by then. Who knows? It's win-win to put Lynch over in New Jersey and have her thumb her nose at a former protege. Becks is 100% the best placed to lead this women's midcard division, and it's hardly like her compatriot will tank if she doesn't take the win on Sunday night.

One can see her failing to take the title back from Becky, then brushing up on her promo chops in a sit-down interview with Corey Graves or Michael Cole. 'What's next for Lyra Valkyria after this huge setback?'. That sort of thing.

The whole "Last Chance" stip is true whilst Lynch is champion, sure, but Lyra would be just fine with a loss.
