WWE SummerSlam 2026: 12 Things That NEED To Happen

Incredibly, Liv Morgan has worked just 6 matches since dethroning Stephanie Vaquer to become Women's World Champion at WrestleMania 42. Of those 6 scraps, she's defended her belt exactly twice, and both of them came on house show dates in the UK. It's true: Morgan hasn't wrestled for her title in front of the cameras since Las Vegas.

Until now.

SummerSlam's match vs. IYO SKY will be Liv's first title defence on a major show, and it's a long time coming. Funnily enough, her latest bout was that Queen Of The Ring final loss to IYO over in Saudi Arabia at Night Of Champions in late-June, so this entire title reign has been a bit of a washout for the Judgment Day cackler.

It'd be surprising if Triple H knocked Morgan's championship platform over and left it laying in a heap come Minnesota though. She's surely in line for another match vs. Vaquer once 'La Primera' is able to return from injury, and there's so much more WWE could be doing with Liv generally. Ending her title reign so suddenly wouldn't do, and it's hardly like SKY would fare better as champ anyway; the lack of challengers is a real problem.

At SummerSlam, Morgan should retain somehow but share some frosty glances with her Judgment Day stablemate Roxanne Perez. New Women's Intercontinental Champ Raquel Rodriguez can be there too if need be, but that isn't as essential. The real aggro should come between Lix and Roxy. That's a match just waiting to be booked for SNME in September.
