In just a few short weeks, SmackDown will present the TLC pay-per-view on December 4. Later, Raw will host Roadblock: End Of The Line on December 18. That means it'll be almost a month before Kevin Owens gets to defend his WWE Universal Title on pay-per-view. That fact could make him the priority champion at Survivor Series.

AJ Styles is knee-deep in a feud opposite Dean Ambrose currently, he has that to put full focus on. Meanwhile, Owens is still waiting to establish his Roadblock rival. Giving him a win in the Team Raw vs. Team SmackDown elimination match seems wise at the moment.

If nothing else, Chris Jericho surviving alongside KO would give the friendly pair something to brag about each week on Raw. Someone like Seth Rollins or Roman Reigns should then take exception to the constant reminders that JeriKO won it for Raw when it really mattered.

An Owens victory would surely lead to some entertaining promos on television going forward, nicely bridging the gap between Survivor Series and the Roadblock special on the WWE Network.
