WWE Tore Up Original Money In The Bank 2025 Plans For R-Truth/Ron Killings (WWE News)
Money In The Bank main event was set to go down differently before shock return changed the plans

WWE elected to change the planned ending to Saturday's Money In The Bank Premium Live Event upon re-signing Ron 'R-Truth' Killings.
This is per Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, who noted that; "they [WWE] basically, you know, tore apart what they were going to do tonight when they brought him back and wanted to do the big moment. You know, they’re into moments. And as a moment, it was a big moment. You know, it was a surprise. It got everyone talking".
Truth returned in a mask and hoodie to attack John Cena and the climax of the match pitting the WWE Champion and Logan Paul against Cody Rhodes and World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso. Following the shock and awe of the surprise assault, Rhodes was able to hit Cena with Cross Rhodes and land the first pin on 'The Champ' this year and first defeat for Cena since he scooped his 17th World Championship at WrestleMania 41. It's unclear what specifically was set to go down had Truth not been the difference-maker, but the finish may have played out the same way in order to service a Rhodes/Cena rematch at some point in the near future.
Meltzter was the latest to note that Killings' comeback wasn't some carefully constructed plan or work, adding that; "He’s back because of the fans. Okay, that’s the deal. He’s back because of the fans. They saw the outcry, and then they wanted to make him— It’s not like it was a work… it was a late decision. They wanted that moment. And for them, that was more important than the original story".
Truth announced that his existing contract was to be his last on June 1st, shocking those in and outside of the company and resulting in an outpouring of support that seemingly move the company enough to sit back down with Killings and re-negotiate a new deal.
