Fightful Select's sources within WWE tell them that the company generally considers Sunday's all-female Evolution PLE "a home run" effort. There had been some concerns before the show on social media about low ticket sales, but the reported attendance turned out to be 8,351, which is more than respectable.

One source told Fightful that women on the card "were put in a position to overdeliver". That's how WWE chiefs see it - they believe the female roster overdelivered on the night with several thumping matches and a boatload of drama that kept fans on the edge of their seats.

Notable highlights named internally include Becky Lynch retaining her Women's Intercontinental Title vs. Bayley and Lyra Valkyria in the opener and the sensational main event between IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley. That went 25 minutes before Naomi cashed in her Money In The Bank briefcase to become brand new Women's World Champion.

There would've been a sizeable pop behind the curtain once the ref's hand slapped the mat to signal Naomi's victory. Fightful heard that she "is widely adored and has received a ton of praise for her heel run this year". Earlier in the show, Naomi had lost a 'No Holds Barred' match to regular foe Jade Cargill; Cargill won Queen Of The Ring last month, so she's in line for a title shot come SummerSlam.

No prizes for guessing what happens next!

Some members of the roster expressed concerns about lacklustre build for certain bouts heading into the PLE, but Fightful heard "that everyone backstage seemed to really enjoy the evening". Maybe this bodes well for a follow up Evolution show in 2026, who knows?
