WWE: Vince McMahon's 12 Favourite Performers Ever

1. Shawn Michaels

Vince's favourite wrestler ever is Shawn Michaels. Whether it was the brilliant matches, awesome promos or the backstage confidence, for whatever reason, Vince was completely bowled over by HBK. It ended up being much more of a personal friendship than say the professional relationship that McMahon had with Austin. To the chagrin of other WWF talent, Michaels would go and hang out in Vince's office. They talked creative ideas a lot, Vince obviously very engaged by HBK's head for innovation (much of the Attitude Era changes stemmed from Shawn's brash concepts). Seemingly McMahon liked Michaels so much that the star could do no wrong. Whether it was turning up in no condition to perform, missing ring time due to bar fights or upsetting other talent, Vince continued to treat HBK in a special way. To be honest, Michaels was consistently having the best matches in WWF, so why shouldn't he earn a degree of preferential treatment? In a showing of how much Vince valued Shawn he continued to pay the star even when he went out with a back injury in 1998 for four years. Upon returning, Michaels got straight back to being the best wrestler in the business. McMahon was in awe once again and personally booked himself in a Wrestlemania match with Michaels in 2006. If further proof is needed of just how much McMahon loved this wrestler, watch the video above. McMahon hands Shawn his Hall of Fame ring with a tear in his eye, planting a little kiss on HBK's neck before an emotional embrace. Like many of us, Vince was a big Shawn Michaels fan, his ultimate favourite wrestler.
