The boss gave the green light to put Cena as the front and centre of all things WWE, John being seen as the face of the company to carry the product to mass audiences. A range or merchandise, CD and film all got the go ahead as Vince betted the WWE's future on Cena. The bet paid off. Cena while not initially a great in ring wrestler, showed a work ethic that was off the charts for being the franchise star of WWE. His ability to put time and effort into numerous projects and appearances was hugely impressive to McMahon. John is probably the hardest working star that Vince has ever had. For his sheer commitment and willingness to give himself to WWE, Vince will always have a special appreciation for Cena. John is on the pay roll for life.
