WWE vs Arrow - 7 Reasons Why Stardust & Stephen Amell Is A Great Idea
3. Dusty Would Want The Show To Go On
That might sound cliche but the fact is Dusty Rhodes loved the business and devoted his life to it. Belonging to an old school generation, Rhodes respected the nature of the beast and understood the sacrifices wrestlers have to make for the good of the show.
That's not to sound callous or disrespectful. His loss is still felt by all within the wresting world and fans are understandably disappointed that Cody is still maintaining this bizarre gimmick that requires him to dismiss his name and history. Nonetheless, Dusty wouldn't want anyone - least of all his son - to stop the act on his account.
Cody also shares his father's passion for the business and earlier this week he responded to fans who criticized his continued use of the Stardust gimmick: “Troubled seeing some people think I’d allow or be comfortable w/the worst thing that’s ever happened to me be exploited on TV for a return.”
WWE planted the seeds for this story before Dusty's passing and thus far have shown no signs of pulling the plug. Nor would the Rhodes family want them to.
