With WWE WrestleMania 41 creeping up on the horizon, there's said to be some frustration amongst the company's female ranks as we get set for this year's Showcase of the Immortals.

As per Sean Ross Sapp over at Fightful Select, certain WrestleMania pitches have been turned down by the WWE women, and there's even some talent who are confused as to whether they're supposed to be a babyface or a heel.

A Fightful subscriber asked SRS to elaborate on a topic brought up on the outlet's Discord server, with that topic being about frustration from some of WWE's women's roster. When asked whether this frustration matched the frustration felt in the company around Royal Rumble 2022, Sapp played down that comparison but did go into a little more detail on what's causing concerns in WWE right now.

Sapp noted:

"This is not a new thing. It's nowhere near Royal Rumble 2022 level. Royal Rumble 2022 level, I can only compare to a few different things. The Fiend and Seth Rollins night [at Hell in a Cell 2019] was one of them, where I had people contact me. Then a COVID era situation where people at the PC said, 'Don't talk to dirt sheets', and a bunch of people said, 'They ain't gonna tell me who the f**k to talk to', and then talked to me. Royal Rumble 2022 was so bad that I developed sources because of how bad it was booked. This is nowhere near that, but there has been a situation where a women's WWE performer has reached out to me and said, 'Dude, can you find out if I'm listed internally as a heel or a babyface', and I'm like, 'Damn, okay'. I know there have been some 'Mania pitches that have been rejected because people are, like, token tag matches aren't something they want to do. They want things put on a more even plane in the women's division. The contracts are going up, the viewership is adjusted accordingly for when women are on-screen. It's not a sideshow or anything like that, it's a part of the show. You're adding more titles, add more matches, all that stuff."

Sapp continued:

"There's a lot of people that have been parked. For example, I'm not going to say Natalya is frustrated, [but] they signed Natalya, they wanted to keep Natalya, they had creative plans for Natalaya, and then what's Natalya done since then? Hasn't done anything, hasn't been on NXT, hasn't been doing anything."

Finally, SRS wrapped things up with:

"A lot of the men not only have one thing going on, they've got a lot of different things going on, and that's just not the way it's been for the women. I don't know if that's a Triple H thing or what."

As we now find ourselves on the Road to WrestleMania, the current landscape for the women at 'Mania 41 consists of Tiffany Stratton vs. Charlotte Flair, Rhea Ripley defending her Women's World Title against a to-be-confirmed competitor(s), and the mystery surrounding who attacked Jade Cargill.

Where the rest of the women's roster is concerned - including Women's United States Champion Chelsea Green and Women's Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria - it remains to be seen what they'll be doing when WrestleMania 41 rolls around. That said, we've still got two months until the Granddaddy of Them All, so we've got a little bit of time to play with before those two days of WrestleMania get here.
