WWE: WrestleMania 30: 10 Things We Are Most Disappointed With

5. HHH v Bryan - Get The Shovel

HHH can't possibly beat Daniel Bryan at Wrestlemania, can he? Rumours suggest that he just might. You can't always put too much stock in what goes around on the internet, but I have seen this particular rumour in more than one place and, really, how much would it really shock you if it turned out to be true? HHH has, rightly or wrongly, become notorious for 'burying' other wrestlers. Mainly by inserting himself into their storylines and refusing to lose. CM Punk during his 'summer of Punk' is a great example. CM Punk was on fire, riding a wave of momentum, until HHH got involved in his storyline. He was screwed by Kevin Nash at Summerslam and then lost to HHH at Vengeance. It didn't make any sense and that's why fans have a problem with HHH. Moving onto Daniel Bryan specifically, I mentioned earlier that he is quite possibly the hottest wrestler since the attitude era. His stock grew organically and the fans emphatically got behind him and wanted him to win the WWE Championship. It looked like we had finally got our moment when he beat John Cena, clean, at Summerslam. Same event as Punk was screwed, same story, HHH screws Daniel Bryan which allows Randy Orton to cash in his money in the bank contract and win the title. Generally, having the babyface get screwed is great storytelling. It gets the face hotter and makes the moment that he finally climbs the mountain much more memorable, but not with Daniel Bryan. When Daniel Bryan got screwed, it started a pattern of screwy finishes and excuses to keep the belt away from the bearded wonder. Beating HHH could provide a satisfying end to The Authority storyline and allow him to then concentrate on the title, however, HHH beating Daniel Bryan at Wrestlemania could stop his momentum dead.
