11. Will The Immortal Hulk Hogan Even Have An Impact?
http://youtu.be/l16A0RBhLCE The return of The Immortal Hulk Hogan to the WWE Universe for Wrestlemania XXX has arguably been the most wasted opportunity that the WWE has undertaken in recent memory. For someone so legendary to the business of professional wrestling, sports entertainment, and the history of the WWE, Hulkamania's billed "final hurrah" has literally been all for not. While his return was also used to herald in the WWE Network era, he was also brought back to spark initial interest into Wrestlemania XXX. And if that has even occurred is questionable up to this point. Hogan's initial return surely caused the WWE Network to add subscriptions, and it almost certainly caused some families around the country, and the world, to plan ahead for this coming Sunday when Hulk Hogan will be their host for Wrestlemania XXX. But that night of his initial return, and all that interest he had generated, has now fallen away and disappeared. And that's not his fault - he is only doing what is asked of him from behind the scenes. On his 2nd appearance on RAW, he again pitched the WWE Network to the fans, and on his 3rd appearance prior to Wrestlemania this year...he had a segment promoting both the WWE Network (again) and also Arnold Schwarzenegger's latest film called Sabotage, which coincidentally had the worst box office opening weekend of any Arnold movie ever made. http://youtu.be/KetT9XdG5uI Instead of having Hogan work to promote matches for the 30th anniversary of Wrestlemania this year, he has been forced to shill WWE products for the masses, and do a tie-in segment for a Hollywood movie. No great "Let me tell you somethin' Mean Gene" style promos, nothing involving himself and newer talent, and nothing involving himself and the established, more veteran talent. He has been abused and wasted and in a near laughing-stock travesty, instead of being the great asset he could have been, if booked properly by WWE Creative. But will he get involved at Wrestlemania XXX this weekend? In recent interviews, he has stated that he is ready...should the need arise for him to get active in some capacity. And in all honesty, his involvement in some type of match or angle with just the top talent is the only way to try and salvage his ill-fated return. The time has passed for any type of run with younger talent, and only by working with Cena, Hunter, Bryan, or The Undertaker will Hulk Hogan's recent WWE return become worthwhile in any sense.
