Update:In a last minute update on this story, PWInsider reports that the replacing of the Divas title to the Women's belt could happen as early as WrestleMania 32 tonight.

It seems the WWE is finally taking notice of just how demeaning the Divas Division is for the legitimate female wrestlers both inside and outside of the company. The WWE will be treating their women€™s division like an actual, competitive wrestling roster from here on out, as rumor has it they are having a brand new title belt created that resembles a smaller WWE World Heavyweight Championship in an effort to bring prestige to the division on the surface the same way that the roster has worked constantly to redeem women€™s wrestling in the ring itself.

Without getting too preachy, this is a long overdue change that should have happened years ago. The term €œDiva€ is condescending and portrays catty women who pull hair and slap each other as opposed to what the supposedly €œDivas Revolution€ promised to do, which was change the way we view women€™s wrestling. This upcoming Triple Threat match with Charlotte, Becky Lynch, and Sasha Banks is just what the doctor prescribed to get the bad taste of the Divas era out of our mouths.

Just who will be the Women€™s Champion come Monday at RAW? Who will be the lead contenders for the title? A wrestling clinic will be put on in Dallas by three ladies, so it€™s only appropriate to turn the definition of the division on its head in the wake of what very well may turn out to be the best match on the entire card. It will be interesting to see if any further changes will take place, such as longer matches on televised events, will ripple in the waters from this positive switch.
