WWE WrestleMania 33: 10 Potential Opponents For Goldberg

2. The Rock

In kayfabe, there's few greater WWE superstars than The Rock. Of course Brock Lesnar would have to be in that discussion as would The Undertaker, but considering Taker's vulnerability to The Beast and The Beast's record of 0-2 to his own version of Kryptonite, Goldberg, the former Atlanta Falcon and WCW Champion has arguably taken over that top spot.

In addition, The Rock was unable to defeat Goldberg when they first met at Backlash 2003. This means that in 3 matches with The Rock and Brock Lesnar, Bill Goldberg has a record of 3-0, all ending the same way: with a spear, a Jackhammer, and the 1-2-3.

So what's this matter? What does their kayfabe ranking have to do with WrestleMania?

Well The Rock has always said that if he were to return to the ring for another WrestleMania match (and not the farce that was against Erick Rowan in 2016), there's few bigger matches that WWE could present than Rock/Goldberg II.

The Rock's beaten nearly everyone except for two notable wrestlers. For The Rock to truly have accomplished it all in pro-wrestling, wouldn't he have to defeat the man he was never able to? Wouldn't he want a rematch from Backlash 2003? Wouldn't he want Goldberg at WrestleMania 33?
