Is that a wrap on the iconic career of Paul Heyman?

ECW's old 'mad scientist' will be a WWE Hall Of Famer by the time he carries the Undisputed Title down the ramp for Roman Reigns in Philly this weekend. That'll be a special moment for someone who has been a maverick trailblazer since the moment he caught Dusty Rhodes' eye by being brash and enthusiastic about all things pro wrestling.

Here's the thing: WWE doesn't have a non-wrestling character as skilled on the mic as Heyman. His promos, whilst definitely formulaic over the past few years, have their place and help keep stories motoring along even when the actual wrestlers themselves are absent. He's one of the most useful tools in the entire company, in other words.

Paul E still has a ton to give both in front of the camera and behind the curtain too. He's one of wrestling's most savvy minds, so it'd be a shame to see him bow out suddenly just because Roman's 'Tribal Chief' dominance is coming to an end.

If it is coming to an end.
