WWE WrestleMania 41: 20 Things That Must Happen
12. Drew McIntyre Gets Brutal & Bloody To Win
Violence has been escalating between Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest on SmackDown. Drew got glass in his eye during a backstage scuffle that peaked when he was slammed on a car windshield, and there's been enough backstabbing to keep any self-respecting WWE Universe mode save from WWE 2K25 in business for years.
On the mic, McIntyre has been referring to Priest as a thorn in his side since the-then Judgment Day member cashed in his Money In The Bank briefcase at WrestleMania 40 to wreck the Scotsman's World Title dreams. That was a plot device for Drew's feud with CM Punk back then, but it's turned into a way to justify WWE booking a match between McIntyre and Damian since.
Fair enough. They needed some context, and that's as good a mini-story as any.
Both heavyweights are always gonna be in the frame for title shots here or there, but it's McIntyre who needs the victory at 'Mania 41 most. If possible, he should look incredibly sadistic as he tears through Priest and tortures somebody who tortured him last year. Oh yes, if any match on Sunday's undercard needs some blood and gore, it's this one.
It is a 'Sin City Street Fight', after all. Seeing Drew inflict the same eye injury on Priest before going out of his way to punish his rival sounds tasty. Damian can afford to take the loss in this one, especially to a ticking time bomb bruiser like McIntyre. Time for WWE to give people another helping of the massacre Drew and Punk worked back at Bad Blood.
