WWE WrestleMania 42: 10 Nightmares That Could Come True

2. Vince McMahon Is The ‘Higher Power’

This is highly unlikely, because McMahon is still embroiled in legal issues aplenty and WWE/TKO probably wouldn’t want to go near him whilst that’s hanging over his head. That said, this is pro wrestling, and strange things do happen. They have happened.

What if Vince is the one pulling the strings on Randy Orton and Pat McAfee because he doesn’t agree that Cody Rhodes should be pushed to the moon as Triple H’s boy? Also, it did feel noteworthy that Cody kinda/sorta/almost mentioned Vince during a face to face promo with Stephanie McMahon on Raw recently.

Some ears perked up after that.

Older fans will recall how rubbish the 'Higher Power' storyline was back in 1999. McMahon revealing himself to be in cahoots with The Undertaker's Ministry Of Darkness just so he could mess with Steve Austin some more was illogical and didn't really pan out. It wasn't needed to continue their feud, so felt like a wasted creative trick.

Things are different in 2026 anyway. Vince's reputation is in the mud, and he'd be an unwanted returnee for many fans watching weekly. That's before one even gets to the staggering elephant in the room about his ongoing court case and legal woes.

Tread carefully, TKO. If you pull the trigger on a Mr. McMahon comeback, then it could well sour a large portion of the audience. Maybe this sort of entry wouldn't even exist had Brock Lesnar not returned amidst controversy back at SummerSlam 2025 himself.

Vince is next level though. Again, be real careful with this sort of thing.
