WWE's 53 Wrestlers Ranked From Worst To Best
5. Dean Ambrose
Pros:
1. Popular and marketable
2. Has had a lot of good matches in WWE
3. Has considerable wrestling experience for someone who’s still under 30 years old
Cons:
1. WWE killed his main event push by giving him a long losing streak
2. Stuck in mid-card purgatory
3. Doesn’t have a long-term storyline as of this writing
Poor Dean Ambrose. Last autumn he was arguably the top face on RAW, was gaining huge cheers from the audience, and some people were making comparisons between him and ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin. Surely that was a good sign of things to come.
Then the losing streak began.
Although Ambrose would seemingly get the upper hand on the weekly shows, he kept losing when it mattered: at the PPVs. He lost to Rollins in Hell in a Cell, and then lost to Bray Wyatt several times. Whatever chance he had of flirting with the World Title picture went up in smoke (or when a TV exploded in his face, as it turns out).
The good news is, Ambrose still has plenty of time ahead of him to bounce back. Even though he’s stuck in the mid-card, he’s tremendously popular, and he, the fans, and WWE management all know it. It’s only a matter of time before he’s given a major storyline and, considering how some within WWE’s management want to do another Shield-based rivalry, which might happen sooner rather than later.
