WWE's Charles Robinson Rushed To Hospital After Animal Attack (WWE News)
WWE's Charles Robinson was rushed to the ER at 2am this morning.
WWE referee Charles Robinson has taken to social media to let fans know he was rushed to the emergency room in the early hours of this morning.
Per Lil Naitch on Instagram, he was bitten by a bat in an incident that required six shots and left him in the ER for four hours.
As Robinson captioned the image of him in a hospital bed:
"Great way to start the morning. 2:00am and got bit by a bat. That's right a bat! 4 hours later in the ER and six shots. #animalattacks #hospital"
The legendary referee has provided no further details on this incident, but his Instagram post seems to show him in good spirits.
It's been a rough few weeks for Charles Robinson, being laid out by John Cena at Night of Champions as Big Match John defended the WWE Championship against CM Punk, and also being hit by Goldberg's trademark Spear as Da Man tried to dethrone Gunther as the World Heavyweight Champion at the most recent Saturday Night's Main Event.
This year marks 30 years in the business for Charles, with him having begun his career in the Pro Wrestling Federation in the Carolinas, initially starting as a photographer before becoming a referee. By 1997, he was a referee for WCW, remaining with the company until it closed its doors in 2001, and even becoming a fairly prominent part of WCW programming as the heel referee who favoured the Four Horsemen.
When WCW was assimilated by the then-WWF in 2001, Charles Robinson was one of those who made the jump to the market leader, often initially seen alongside fellow WCW referee Nick Patrick, even accompanying Patrick to the ring for his match against Earl Hebner at the big Invasion PPV later that summer. While Nick Patrick remained with the rebranded WWE until 2008, Robinson is still an active official to this very day, currently officiating on the SmackDown brand and viewed as one of the greatest pro wrestling referees of all-time.
All the best to Charles on his recovery after this most bizarre of animal attacks.
