20 Best Matches From WWE's 'C' Shows

13. Rob Van Dam Vs. Jerry Lynn - Sunday Night Heat

Jerry Lynn wrestled Rob Van Dam on Sunday Night Heat. Isn't that weird? It's like finding out that Undertaker and Kane had a dark match at an Xplosion taping. This obviously doesn't have the visceral impact of their ECW clashes, but a rivalry like theirs is always worth revisiting.

The heel/face dynamics are all wonky here. Rob Van Dam is technically a heel, as part of the newly-arrived ECW invasion force, and is supposedly a terrible garbage person for winning the WWE hardcore title. The fans, however, are all in on Rob as a mega babyface and they really don't care about Jerry Lynn.

Nobody's buying the New F'n Show as some kind of long-time WWE stalwart just because he's got a regular Heat intro graphic as he walks to the ring.

The two essentially have an abridged version of their ECW matches, and even though it's barely seven minutes long (Lynn claims that most of his offense was edited out), it's better than most of RVD's WWE work.
