WWE's YouTube channel has been recognized for eclipsing 100 million subscribers, a milestone only achieved by nine other YouTube channels on the planet.

Joining the platform in 2007, WWE has continued to churn out YouTube content during the past 17 years, including show recaps, archival footage, top 10 lists, exclusive post-show interviews and talk shows, and other videos.

WWE touted the accomplishment on Friday with a news item indicating that The Rock's return to the company "helped supercharge" their YouTube subscriber count, noting that they added more than 100,000 followers in a day due to the WrestleMania XL kickoff media event in Las Vegas last month. The company noted that before The Rock made a surprise return in September, WWE was on track to crack the 100 million mark by late April.

Despite existing solely on the internet, the achievement came with a bag of hardware...

Fans have been fed a steady diet of "Did you know?" stats about the promotion's social media prowess during WWE programming in recent years, but they added a nugget in Friday's announcement, touting 81 billion lifetime video views, calling it "the largest sports channel on YouTube," clocking in with more subscribers than the NBA, NFL, MLB and NHL combined.

Call it another barometer of how hot the product is at the moment heading into WrestleMania.
