3. Orton’s Slow Saunter

During the main event of WrestleMania 41, Travis Scott conducted what had to be the longest run-in in wrestling history, taking an eternity to make his way to ringside and interfere.

But then came the main event of WrestleMania 42 night one, when Randy Orton did a boring, no-frills plod to the ring. The slow saunter came after more than a half-hour of ads, John Cena attendance shtick, and Bianca Belair’s pregnancy announcement, so by that time, fans were clamoring for some action, and then they had to sit through a bland walk that lasted for eons.

So, just how long was Orton’s entrance, especially compared to the often-mocked Travis Scott run-in?

Randy Orton’s entrance was 3:37 from the first note of his theme music to when both feet hit the ring, eclipsing Scott’s similar path by 37 seconds. However, Travis spent more than a minute on the outside of the ring. If we’re just talking the actual walk to the ring apron, Orton took 1:30 longer than Scott’s parade down the ramp.

Is this just a silly talking point that has no bearing on WrestleMania itself (especially considering Roman Reigns and CM Punk took more than 12 minutes for their combined entrances)? Absolutely. But Orton has a reputation for being slow and boring as a heel, and he lived up to that with his long, uneventful journey to the ring.
