6 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Saturday Night's Main Event (13 December - Results & Review)

WWE is notoriously good at producing highlight videos for just about any subject, but they also are notorious for assembling meaningless talking head packages full of mindless drivel. We got both on Saturday night.

Sprinkled through the program, WWE aired several taking head videos, featuring a mix of current and former superstars, celebrities, and athletes, all sending their well-wishes to John Cena on his retirement night.

The videos were complete empty-calorie fare, with no insights, no depth, no real purpose other than to cram as many people as possible saying “Congratulations John! We miss you and wish you all the best,” in a bunch of different ways.

They could have instead aired actual meaningful clips from Cena’s career, like his first title win or various rivalries. Anything like that would have been worlds better than the entirely skippable videos of Snoop Dogg, Tom Brady, Undertaker, Kane, Jimmy Fallon, Fluffy, and Jelly Roll praising Cena.
