10 Amazing Comic Book Redesigns That Didn't Last

5. DC Rebirth Batman

Batman Vol 2 Rebirth

Batman's been through about three redesigns over the last decade (four, if you count Dick Grayson Batman), and none ever seem to stick. The first was the aforementioned Inc. suit, the second the one seen during the New 52, and the third - the subject of this entry - Greg Capullo's from DC Rebirth.

This suit is the culmination of all of Batman's different looks over the years, and it deserved to stick around for longer. The purple trip on the cape works as a glorious throwback to the gloves the Dark Knight sported when he first appeared, while the golden border around the black bat-symbol serves as the perfect blend between the OG symbol and the yellow crescent utilised in the years following.

Rebirth's look has, for now however, been replaced by the classic black trunks-black symbol combo. It's fine, and there's a Doomsday Clock costume update still to come, but the Dark Knight hadn't looked this good in years when Capullo got the chance to leave his own stamp on him three years ago.
