The story of the hard-boiled detective is actually a surprisingly poignant portrait of a man whose life is falling apart around him, but never stops being laugh-out-loud hilarious. Part loose cannon cop, part sad-sack, Detective Man is a comedic creation rivaled only by his cast of supporting characters, including Harold the Talking Cat and The Licker (an investigator who can determine if something is poisonous just by licking it).
