6. Rats
Another noir crime story, Rats is as gritty as Detective Man is funny. A grimy murder mystery drawn in an equally grimy, off-putting style, SleeperInk's art is impossible to look away from.
Of course, Rats is not devoid of a sense of humour. Showing us life from the perspective of a group of city rodents, there's something twisted and comical about Mossy and River discovering the dead body of their friend Whitley. From their point of view, he has been stripped, robbed, and utterly degraded, but for us, he's just another dead rat on the city streets.
Rats is still in its early days, with only a few chapters available on Instagram, so now is the perfect time to hop on board and follow the story. Within those few chapters, don't be surprised if you find yourself hooked on the gorgeous drawings, the rich world, and a storyline you can really sink your teeth into.
